I Salute all our Entrepreneurs

Because most of them run small and medium eterprises, they are not celebrated in the way that the leaders of our large companies and MNCs are. This often blinds us to the the importance of SMEs which account for 99% of all enterprises in Singapore and 70% of our jobs.

Successful Entrepreneur

Successful Entrepreneur is an annual nationwide independent media platform. It features many successful Singapore entrepreneurs outstanding in their fields and for sharing knowledge and experiences with readers. While serving as catalyst to inspire our younger generation to aspire to entrepreneurial ideals.

Undoubtedly, entrepreneurship plays a critical role in today's transformation to the economic landscape to a knowledge-based economy. Factors shaping it include the exponential growth of information and communication technologies, accelerating scientific and technological changes, increasing globalization and changing market patterns of demand.

An initiative of GRC Press Holdings, Successful Entrepreneur is endorsed by the tremendous support of several reputable trade and official organizations. Since its inception in 2007, the initiative has been accorded overwhelming positive, Public responses and accolades.

To ensure the initiative with the highest quality and credibility, a panel of leading figures from the different sectors was formed to inform and advise the Editorial Team.

As we step into the 6th year of this notable initiative, 2012 SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR recognizes entrepreneurs demonstrating outstanding performance. To help the panel in its work, two Selection Guidelines were identified after much review.

The Two Selection Guidelines are:

·   Annual turnover of an entrepreneurial enterprise should not exceed S$15 million, S$5 million and

·   A pro-family working environment for employees.

Other updated Selection Guidelines:

·   A vision for business excellence

·   An entrepreneurial enterprise should not exceed 250 employees

·   Professionalism in administration, process and customer service management

·  Capabilities to innovate and identify for creating new knowledge and technology to develop high value-added products ;      and services and ability to compete regionally or globally in business.
